Netacea was recognized among nine vendors in the 2021 report

Manchester, UK – 26th July 2021Netacea, a leading provider of Bot Management solutions, today announced that it has been identified as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security, 2021. Netacea was named in the Bot Management category.”[1]

In its latest Hype Cycle for Application Security, Gartner explains the need for Bot Management as “bot traffic continues to rise, along with the increasing sophistication of bots”.

It adds, “Important primarily for large B2C and B2B web applications, bot management is becoming more and more relevant to any public-facing web application where malicious automated traffic can directly impact business outcomes.” The report also recognizes “Bot management solutions’ ability to not only identify bad bots but protect the user experience of legitimate application users and authorized bots”.

The Gartner report also identifies the limitations of non-specialized offerings: “Bundled offerings from WAAP providers also create difficulties when they can justify deployment of bot management only for some applications or to protect only certain key features of an application (such as login pages)”.

Andy Still, CTO and Co-Founder at Netacea said: “As a specialist provider of bot management, Netacea is committed to developing revolutionary bot mitigation technology. We believe our recognition as a Sample Vendor in Bot Management is indicative of our growing presence in the market. It attests to our proven capabilities in delivering fast and accurate bot detection and mitigation technology for enterprise organizations.”

The report further states, “Security and risk management (SRM) leaders must adopt a global view on application security and incorporate security from the outset in all environments. In too many instances, security is limited to the build and release management pipeline. It is now the time to focus on orchestrating multiple application security innovations to serve as a coherent defense, rather than relying on a set of stand-alone products.”
