Netacea recognized as a Sample Vendor in Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Application Security 2022

Netacea is once again recognized under the Bot Management category, a maturing market in 2022.

Manchester, UK – 1st August 2022 – Netacea, a leading provider of Bot Management solutions, today announced that it has been once again identified as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security. For the second year in a row, Netacea was named in the Bot Management category, this time in the 2022 report. [1]

Comparing this year’s report to the 2021 Hype Cycle for Application Security, Bot Management is moving out of the Trough of Disillusionment and into the Slope of Enlightenment – which we consider as a clear indication that Bot Management is becoming increasingly recognized as a maturing market.

In the section dedicated to Bot Management, compiled by Akif Khan and Jeremy D’Hoinne, the Gartner Hype Cycle states: “Although initially used or protecting large B2C web applications, bot management has become more and more relevant to any B2C or B2B public-facing endpoint where malicious automated traffic can directly impact business outcomes.”

The 2022 Gartner report identifies the limitations of Bot Management and states: “Bundled offerings from WAAP providers also create difficulties when they can justify deployment of bot management only for some applications or to protect only certain key features of an application (such as login pages).”
